Although, comfortability and keeping warm should be our top priority during this chilly weather but what better way to beat the cold weather in London right now than walking around looking like a warm giant marshmallow.  This pink oversized coat is probably one of my favourite coat this season and that’s not because it’s in my favourite colour but because it’s very cosy, warm, and makes any dull outfit become an Instagram outfit of the day post worthy #OOTD .

I styled this coat with some casual work wear pants, white long-sleeved top and my Nike trainers for a very laid back yet effective look.

Confessions of a bargain hunter

Processed with VSCO with p5 presetProcessed with VSCO with t1 presetProcessed with VSCO with t1 presetProcessed with VSCO with p5 presetNow that the black Friday sales are over, I thought I would share some of my shopping tips on how I manage to find good bargains and still have my sanity. FYI I managed to get my whole outfit excluding the shoes for a total of £3 by following these tips, as always outfit details will be listed below.

Rule number 1 : Don’t overthink

Just like everything you do in life, there’s no good in over thinking! So when I go shopping during sales period, I make sure once I see something I like, its a quick ‘this will look nice on me’ or ‘naah this isn’t it’ I try not to think too much into the item like ‘ooh will I wear this, what will I wear this with’ etc  because the time spent on thinking about these things I could have missed out on a really cute top and we don’t want that.

Rule number 2 :  Patience

Patience is a very important skill to have when it comes to shopping and if you’ve ever shopped at TKMaxx then you know how important having patience is. Everyone that knows me, knows how much I hate feeling rushed or being in a overcrowded place but somehow when it comes to shopping I don’t mind these two thing as much . Shopping on a normal day can be crazy so imagine shopping during sales where everyone is on a hunt for a good bargain, the last thing you want to do is rush and miss out on that faux fur coat you’ve had your eye on since the year started sooooo I say take your time girl and remember the same way Rome wasn’t built in a day might be the same way that jacket doesn’t want to be found on the first search. The good thing about the 21st century is you can shop without leaving your bed, with online shopping there’s never a real rush but you still need the patience to not give up after scrolling through your favourite websites and not finding that one item you’ve been wanting but learning that it’s still okay to search other sites like ebay, depop, aliexpress or amazon for that same pair of jeans.

Rule number 3 : Play nice

Coming from someone that’s worked in retail before, I know how easy it is to say ‘everything we have is on the shop floor’ even when it’s not the truth.  Don’t let the stress of strangers brushing past you with their heavy bags be the reason you miss out on a good bargain,  when I walk into shops I try to give a little smile or nod just because I know there’s a chance I’m going to end up needing their help and it could go two ways ; (a) they could actually go in the stock room and make my day by bringing the item or (b) not even bother search or look and just tell me its out stock even though there’s probably a thousand and one size 8’s laying around in the stockroom.

Rule number 4 : don’t be afraid to look back

Don’t let the thoughts of being judged by the security guard or sales assistant for coming back into the store after just spending half an hour in there before stop you from going back into your favourite shop and getting those cute pair of boots! when in doubt just imagine how jealous your friends will be when you turn up in a pair of cool boots that could have cost you £50 but you got them from £15 because decided to go back.

Rule number 5 : Shop wisely

Although we all love a good sale, it’s important to learn when to splurge and when to keep the purse away. One way I stop myself from going on an unnecessary shopping spree is by constantly asking myself  ‘will you buy this if it was full priced’ and it works all the time.

I hope these five tips helps every shopaholic out there, please feel free to share some shopping tips or sample sale websites in the comment section below 🙂 Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram ; Teefscorner

‘Go Gina’

This outfit was inspired by the vibes I get when listening to the album ‘Ctrl’ by Sza, if you follow me on twitter then you know I have been obsessing over track 7 titled ‘Go gina’. This particular song makes me wanna throw on my old mom jeans, crop top or in this case make my own crop shirt and dance in the sun without worrying about people watching. I also finally found the perfect pair of Mom jeans woohoo!!!

Have you listened to the album yet? if yes, comment your favourite track below! if you haven’t, make sure you check it out because it is nothing but good vibes.

I am officially done with university which means I am going to be more consistent with the blog posts, woo hoo.

I have been eyeing up these trousers for such a long time but I wasn’t too sure about styling them especially because of my height. I finally decided to take a risk and style them with a pair of black boots and black shades to give it some edge.

Current favourite song ;- Kendrick Lamar – Pride

”I can’t fake humble just cause your ass is insecure”

I have been feeling very uninspired with everything which is one of the main reason why I have not been consistent with the blog posts. My lack of sleep, fear of not graduating from university, fear of losing myself in the process of trying to make everyone else around me feel important and appreciated is making me feel on edge. I have isolated myself from people (not in a malicious way) because I feel like the vibes are no longer genuine and I refuse to be around people that make me feel anxious or too much to handle. As the weather changes, it makes me wonder if I am truly happy with who I am becoming or am I still trying to remain the same because I am afraid of letting go of things or people I have outgrown. I am not sad or 100% genuinely happy but one thing I know for sure is that I have become unapologetic and I am loving it.

I will not apologise for needing a ‘Me’ time or becoming selfish with what I choose to invest my time and energy into, I will not apologise for circumstances I cannot control and most importantly, I refuse to let the fear of rejection or failing stop me from going after the things I want in life . Are you happy or are you just trying to convince people you are happy?

Here’s to good vibes and new beginnings, outfit details below as usual, xoxo

After the storm, the sun comes out

Long time no post! hope you’re all well? I’ve been so busy with university that I’ve barely had time for anything else and the moody weather was not helping either.Rain, storm and a tad bit of snow makes one dull but the sun finally came out today so I decided to take a break and do some impromptu shoot at my university car park to cheer myself up. I was going for different kind of vibe as I finally found a pair dungarees that actually fit my 5ft nothing self (can I get a woohoo) woohoo. Hope you like it and don’t forget to like, follow and comment! Now go enjoy the sun while it lasts and remember that after any storm, the sun always comes out. Outfit details below

With love,

Teefs xoxo

Afrobeats Karaoke

I have never been to a karaoke before except the ones in the car or in your own home so when my friend invited me out for a karaoke I just had to make time for it. When I first heard it was an ‘Afrobeats Karaoke’ I had some reservations as I don’t listen to a lot of Afrobeats but I went and I must say I do not regret attending this event as the vibes throughout the night was just remarkable; seeing people enjoy and vibe to one genre of music was so beautiful and it made me so proud of how far Afrobeats has come . This event usually happens every second Thursday of the month at  Nomad bar in old street, the tickets are £5 online and £7 at the door. Dj Neptizzle is the resident Dj and I even got the chance to meet Afrobeats producer Juls , who is known for producing hit songs for Mr Eazi. If you like Afrobeats then i recommend this event, you can check out the website for more details

What’s for lunch?

If you know me then you know that I am a sucker for good food and I am always down to try out new restaurants or bars/pubs, So today I decided to have drinks at a local pub in Belsize park before heading to lunch at Touro Brazilian Steakhouse. Its a Brazilian all you can eat buffet where they bring different types of meat to your table on a skewer, it was my first time at the restaurant and I highly recommend it to any meat lovers, they have a vegetarian option too, it doesn’t require breaking the bank especially for the amount of meat you get served. I decided to wear one of my old summer satin dress with a pair of tights as I was getting bored of the typical winter outfit, you can never go wrong with an all black outfit with a touch of white! have you visited the restaurant before? how was your experience? Comment below and don’t forget to follow so you don’t miss any new updates on my blog xo
